Lemon Chicken (L37) was good. Spring rolls always great tasting.
Dont know how the food taste but the egg drop soup has no flavor and the appetizer sampler is not worth buying
chinese food and the setting at this place is great. Makes me feel like I in Nashville again.
Great place to eat...
Pho was tasteless. There was no choice of cuts, and the broth was bland. There wasn't any Thai basil, lime, jalapeno, or Sriracha sauce available. Also, the waiter argued with another customer over the soup she wanted to order. He spent over 5 minutes trying tell her she could only get a certain soup if she ordered online and carried out. It was utterly ridiculous to watch, I feel angry and embarrassed for her.
The food had no taste although the portions were big.
I really wanted to try a Vietnamese restaurant while in San Antonio and this one was the closest to my hotel that had at least a partial menu online. Needless to say, they ended up having more Chinese food options than Vietnamese. I went with the beef vermacelli and was rather disappointed. It tasted okay, but it was really nothing more than a beef pancit bijon from the Philippines with some curry added to it when they stir fried it.
We missed this place!!! Its so delicious! 😋 a must try!!!!!
Great food. Slow service
Great food. Great lunch deal. Can get out of there, with tip for $12.00
Have probably been coming here for 20 years a d the same lady still works here a d took our order. The food us goo and the prices are fair. The spring rolls a d the chicken lemon grass ate most excellent
Spring rolls are top notch as are the entrees. Large menu with something for everyone.
Amazing quality food, and owned by a sweet and wholesome family
The wife and I enjoy this restaurant on a regular basis. I stick with the Vietnam menu when I go, I have tried dishes from the Chinese side of things but prefer the Vietnam food. Best items, small soup supreme is excellent rice noodles with pcs. of chicken and broth to start your meal. The Spring Rolls are the best in the city, one other place on Broadway is close to the quality, I have looked elsewhere, but to me it is the best. As a dish I recommend the Chicken Lemon Grass, it comes with white rice and the Triple Delight. If you want something other than the white rice the Combination Fried Rice is also good. The restaurant is family owned from the kitchen to wait staff, sometimes they get over run with business, but they are nice good people.
The best spring rolls hands down!
I heard about 'em. Read about 'em and it's all true. The spring rolls are the best I've ever had! Not those dinky things on a buffet stuffed with cabbage. Kim Tran's are filled with more meat than vegetables and taste great! My combo (beef, chicken and shrimp) with noodles was huge for lunch, but I ate every bit of it. Only down side was the service was a little (just a little) slow. Probably because it was Friday at lunch time. Also, the restaurant is not huge. Nice place for a party of up to six for lunch, but any larger would be a challenge to sit them all comfortably.
Food is very bland. I ordered extra spicy Mongolian Beef. Was just a little spicy but no flavor to the entree. My boyfriend had the Lemongrass Chicken and same, no flavor!! Fish sauce for spring rolls was almost like it was watered down. No fish danky sauce smell. Only thing good was spring roll.Sorry, we won't try this place again.
Great place to eat good Chinese food. Nice place to take my bride. Nice cozy atmosphere. Decent prices!
We ate from here yesterday and we will not be returning! The food was very bland. Idk what kind of "fried rice" they gave us, it was juet yellow and had some hard parts in it. So I'm sure some of the rice was old. I had generals chicken and I honestly did not eat it. Waste of money waste of time. I did read the reviews before going to this place but I figured I won't really know until I try myself. Definitely do not recommend!
Very good food for the price. The menu has mostly traditional Chinese food. There were some Vietnamese dishes, and I tried a bowl of pho, a Vietnamese traditional soup. It was very good! The broth was flavorful. The service was fast and the server was attentive. Give it a try!
Came for lunch the other day expecting Vietnamese food, it definitely was not. While they had ONE kind of Pho, the rest is basically "Chinese" cuisine. The server was rather odd. Couldn't remember who ordered what. Asked us to hand him our drinks to be refilled. And never seemed very interested in us after we got our food (one order of which was wrong). Overall, not impressed. Won't go back again thats for sure.
Please don’t waste your time or money with this rodent infested restaurant.
Never has a bad experience!! Love this place. Food is delicious and service usually quick.
The last Chinese place where you can still get a decent dinner special for $8 (including rice and egg roll). I’m happy. Service was good. Food was good. Satisfied with everything.
Super friendly.... Delicious food.... The owner is a totally reliable and trustworthy guy.
Food is really good price is decent
Calm, quiet atmosphere. Friendly wait staff. I didn't feel rushed. Great food. The egg rolls are awesome!
Just dined here for first time, great food with perfect lunch portions.
The food is delicious and the service is great!
The wait here is long sometimes, but the food is always pretty good.
Food not good at all the egg drop and hot and sour have NO TAST along with the fried rice. The male waiter is extremely rude...Shrimp with snow pea is excellent..
It's has its unique flavor that is a little different in other Chinese food that I've taste in America, probably because I usually ate at Chinese buffet. I just rate this 3 stars because serving was not big enough for the pricing.
Decided to check the place out since it had decent reviews. At first sight, it looks like cliche, old and dingy. The service was okay, the servers were prompt but not the most welcoming. I honestly don't know what people see in this place. It's terrible, the fried rice was bland and the lemon chicken tasted like a mystery meat. I'm of Chinese descent and have had my fair share of Asian foods but this was not it. Definitely don't recommend this place.
Customer service was good. Food was not what I expected from a Chinese restaurant.
Great food best jasmine tea ever
The Pho was great and so were the spring rolls. Service was fast and staff was friendly and very helpful
Spring rolls are great... overall good experience
Everything is so good. Looking forward to going back again.
My hubby and I have been going to Kim Tran since 1998. It's been awhile, but the food, atmosphere, and wait staff are still outstanding!!
Very good service and atmosphere. They need more vegan friendly options. Everything doesn't have to have animal products in it.
Love the Chicken Lemon Grass (well done) and the Spring Rolls!
Been going here since I was a kid great family owned business.
Excellent spot for quality Chinese food. I give this place two thumbs up. It has a great interior. Reminds me of a place in New York I loved to visit.
Love this place, best jasmine tea you'll ever taste. Spring rolls are to die for. The entire menu will definitely satisfy any desire. Grace and peace.
Food was good service is poor they do not like to give you more tea a big negative for me
This place is the best. The food NEVER disappoints.
Tucked away just off Ft. Sam, this place can get busy at lunch. Good food, pleasant service. Nice place to go in between rush hours to sit by the window with a good book.
I tried the limon grass chicken from the vietnamese side of the lunch menu because it had good reviews. The vietnamese egg rolls are excellent but the chicken was very dry and not what I was expecting. I prefer a meal with vegetables and it's just chicken and rice. I was disappointed.But... came back a week later and had the chicken with vegetables and vietnamese spring roles and was very satisfied. Very reasonably priced menu and not a very busy lunch rush and the service is quick.
The lemongrass chicken with rice noodles here is the best I have ever had! The entire family could not get enough of it. You should definitely add this dish from this place to your bucket list.
